When Robert Redmond was born on 17 April 1790, in Mountain Township, Stormont Dundas and Glengarry, Ontario, Canada, his father, Nicholas Redmond, was 23 and his mother, Anna May Welsh, was 15. He married Lucy Chatterson on 20 May 1817, in Matilda Township, Stormont Dundas and Glengarry, Ontario, Canada. They were the parents of at least 10 sons and 8 daughters. He died on 17 December 1866, in Matilda Township, Stormont Dundas and Glengarry, Ontario, Canada, at the age of 76.
