He married Delema Fern Guthrie in 1940, in Indiana, United States. He lived in West Carrollton, Montgomery, Ohio, United States in 1940 and Dayton, Montgomery, Ohio, United States in 1945. He died on 21 September 2005, in Naples, Collier, Florida, United States, at the age of 92, and was buried in Silver Creek Cemetery, Jamestown, Greene, Ohio, United States.
