When Josiah Alexander Morrison was born on 25 July 1813, in Dallas, Alabama, United States, his father, Robert Carson Morrison, was 26 and his mother, Prudence Alexander, was 28. He married Mary Mumford about 1833. They were the parents of at least 2 sons and 2 daughters. He died on 24 May 1850, in his hometown, at the age of 36, and was buried in Valley Creek Cemetery, Valley Grande, Dallas, Alabama, United States.
