When Anna Knowlton was born on 19 March 1773, in Ashford, Windham, Connecticut, United States, her father, Thomas Knowlton, was 32 and her mother, Anna Keyes, was 29. She married John Kitredge on 1 January 1804, in Ipswich, Essex, Massachusetts, United States. She died on 19 June 1817, in her hometown, at the age of 44.

1781 · British Forces Capture Fort Griswold

The capture of Fort Griswold was the final act of treason that Benedict Arnold committed. This would be a British victory. On the American side 85 were killed, 35 wounded and paroled, 28 taken prisoner, 13 escaped, and 1 twelve year old was captured and released.

1786 · Shays' Rebellion

Caused by war veteran Daniel Shays, Shays' Rebellion was to protest economic and civil rights injustices that he and other farmers were seeing after the Revolutionary War. Because of the Rebellion it opened the eyes of the governing officials that the Articles of Confederation needed a reform. The Rebellion served as a guardrail when helping reform the United States Constitution.

English (Hampshire): habitational name from either of two places so named, one in Dorset and the other in Kent. Both are named from Old English cnoll ‘knoll, hilltop’ + tūn ‘farmstead, estate’.
