When Hans Jorgensen was born about 1698, in Aller, Slesvig, Denmark, his father, Jorgen Hansen, was 32 and his mother, Bodil Hansen, was 24. He married Mette Clausen about 1747, in Dalby, Hedensted, Vejle, Denmark. They were the parents of at least 4 sons and 7 daughters. He died on 30 January 1783, at the age of 86.
