Herrmann Hinrich Dünkelgod was born in 1762, in Schleswig, Schleswig-Holstein, Prussia, Germany as the son of Herrmann Hinrich Dünkelgod and Engel Beitin. He married Anna Margaretha Koester on 8 June 1805, in Ratekau, Ostholstein, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. They were the parents of at least 2 sons and 2 daughters. He died on 1 December 1821, at the age of 59, and was buried in Oldenburg, Germany.
