When Thomas Cummock Russell was born on 19 November 1882, in Almy, Uinta, Wyoming, United States, his father, Thomas Johnston Russell, was 21 and his mother, Isabella Binning Cummock, was 17. He married Cecilia Sneddon on 9 June 1909, in Diamondville, Uinta, Wyoming, United States. They were the parents of at least 1 son and 1 daughter. He lived in Diamondville, Lincoln, Wyoming, United States in 1920 and Butte, Silver Bow, Montana, United States in 1940. He died on 13 March 1951, in Montpelier, Bear Lake, Idaho, United States, at the age of 68, and was buried in Ogden City Cemetery, Ogden, Weber, Utah, United States.

Weber comes from John Henry Weber, an early fur trader. The university opened for students on January 7, 1889. By the late 1920's, the college was in financial difficulty and the Utah Legislature passed a law allowing the purchase of both Weber College and Snow College from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In 1954 the college moved from downtown Ogden the southeast bench area of the city where it resides currently.
1901 · Assassination of Mckinley
President William McKinley was shot at the Temple of Music, in the Pan-American Exposition, while shaking hands with the public. Leon Czolgosz shot him twice in the abdomen because he thought it was his duty to do so. McKinley died after eight days of watch and care. He was the third American president to be assassinated. After his death, Congress passed legislation to officially make the Secret Service and gave them responsibility for protecting the President at all times.
