He married Frances Sill on 2 April 1846, in Monroe, Ohio, United States. They were the parents of at least 6 sons and 7 daughters. He lived in Indiana, United States in 1870 and Brown Township, Washington, Indiana, United States in 1880. He died on 17 May 1900, in Brown, Indiana, United States, at the age of 74, and was buried in Vandeman Cemetery, Belmont, Washington Township, Brown, Indiana, United States.
