When Daniel I. Schenck was born on 1 April 1771, in Pleasant Valley, Monmouth, New Jersey, British Colonial America, his father, Jan John Schenck, was 48 and his mother, Neeltje Bennett, was 42. He married Catharine Smock on 13 October 1793. They were the parents of at least 2 sons. He died on 9 August 1815, at the age of 44.
