When Ole Pedersen Rese was born in 1790, in Hemsedal, Nes, Buskerud, Norway, his father, Peder Olsson Rese, was 56 and his mother, Guri Hansdatter Holle, was 11787. He married Margit Ingvarsdatter Grøndale on 1 November 1812, in Nes, Buskerud, Norway. They were the parents of at least 9 sons and 2 daughters. He died in 1848, in his hometown, at the age of 58.
