When Robert Gates Hite was born on 19 February 1784, in Virginia, United States, his father, CPT George Hite, was 22 and his mother, Deborah Rutherford, was 23. He married Courtney Ann Briscoe on 19 January 1823. He died on 2 September 1823, in Charles Town, Jefferson, Virginia, United States, at the age of 39.

1786 · Shays' Rebellion
Caused by war veteran Daniel Shays, Shays' Rebellion was to protest economic and civil rights injustices that he and other farmers were seeing after the Revolutionary War. Because of the Rebellion it opened the eyes of the governing officials that the Articles of Confederation needed a reform. The Rebellion served as a guardrail when helping reform the United States Constitution.
1788 · Becomes the 10th state
On June 25, 1788 Virginia became the 10th state.
1800 · Movement to Washington D.C.
While the growth of the new nation was exponential, the United States didn’t have permanent location to house the Government. The First capital was temporary in New York City but by the second term of George Washington the Capital moved to Philadelphia for the following 10 years. Ultimately during the Presidency of John Adams, the Capital found a permanent home in the District of Columbia.
