When John McLeod Nunn was born on 16 May 1892, in Invercargill, New Zealand, his father, James William Nunn, was 35 and his mother, Catherine McLeod, was 30. He married Doris Catherine Galt on 25 October 1922. They were the parents of at least 1 daughter. He died on 6 March 1977, in Christchurch, New Zealand, at the age of 84.
