When Tevita Tuamoheloa Taufu'i was born in 1921, in Kolovai, Tongatapu, Tonga, his father, Taufu'i ae Valu Motuapuaka, was 29 and his mother, Eseta Moala, was 30. He married Polohiva Fohe in 1952, in Neiafu, Vava'u, Tonga. He died on 8 January 1984, in Neiafu, Vava'u, Tonga, at the age of 63, and was buried in Tofoa, Tongatapu, Tonga.
