When Lars Nielsen was born in March 1719, in Bråby, Ringsted, Denmark, his father, Niels Nielsen Jyde, was 36 and his mother, Maria Elisabeth Simonsdatter, was 37. He married Maria Pedersen on 7 December 1739, in Bråby, Ringsted, Denmark. They were the parents of at least 4 sons and 5 daughters. He died in January 1804, in his hometown, at the age of 84, and was buried in Bråby, Ringsted, Denmark.
