He lived in Oregon, United States in 1933 and Hardin Township, Pottawattamie, Iowa, United States in 1940. He died on 18 April 1947, in Council Bluffs, Pottawattamie, Iowa, United States, at the age of 80, and was buried in Walnut Hill Cemetery, Council Bluffs, Pottawattamie, Iowa, United States.

This Act was to restrict the power of the President removing certain office holders without approval of the Senate. It denies the President the power to remove any executive officer who had been appointed by the president with the advice and consent of the Senate, unless the Senate approved the removal during the next full session of Congress. The Amendment was later repealed.
The Oregon Pioneer Society was organized in October 1867. Their purpose was to keep a list of members and when they moved to Oregon. The Oregon Pioneer Society became the Oregon Pioneer Association on October 18, 1873. The Association dissolved in 1928.
