Name Meaning

French:1. from Old French chasse ‘hunt’, hence a metonymic occupational name for a huntsman or possibly, by ellipsis, for a gamekeeper, garde-chasse. 2. ( Chassé ): habitational name from a place in Sarthe named Chassé, from the Roman personal name Cacius + the locative suffix -acum.
