Grace O. Carey was born on 26 January 1876, in Buffalo, Erie, New York, United States as the daughter of Aaron D Carey and Loretta Roekehill. She married Spaulsbury in 1895. She died on 19 October 1921, in Mabton, Yakima, Washington, United States, at the age of 45.

1881 · The Assassination of James Garfield

Garfield was shot twice by Charles J. Guitea at Railroad Station in Washington, D.C. on July 2, 1881. After eleven weeks of intensive and other care Garfield died in Elberon, New Jersey, the second of four presidents to be assassinated, following Abraham Lincoln.
