When Peder Jensen was born on 28 February 1822, in Humble, Tranekær, Denmark, his father, Jens Pedersen, was 25 and his mother, Ane Andersdr, was 22. He married Ellen Hansdr on 2 March 1850, in Humble, Tranekær, Denmark. They were the parents of at least 2 sons and 2 daughters. He lived in Lindelse, Lindelse, Tranekær, Denmark in 1855 and Tistrup, Øster Horne, Ribe, Denmark in 1860. He died on 23 September 1903, in Hobart, Tasmania, Australia, at the age of 81, and was buried in Cornelian Bay Cemetery, Cornelian Bay, Tasmania, Australia.
