When Astri Salvesdatter was born on 2 March 1754, in Fidjeland, Sirdal, Vest-Agder, Norway, her father, Salve Larsen Fidjeland, was 38 and her mother, Joren Knudsdatter, was 34. She married Gunder Gundersen on 10 June 1783. They were the parents of at least 1 son and 2 daughters. She died on 21 May 1843, at the age of 89.
