Margaretha Schmid was born on 23 November 1726, in Schlattingen, Thurgau, Switzerland as the daughter of Jacob Schmid and Vrena Staner. She married Hans Jakob Lips on 25 November 1753. They were the parents of at least 1 daughter. She died on 23 January 1754, at the age of 27.
