He married Lilly Repetto Smith on 14 October 1889, in Fayette, West Virginia, United States. They were the parents of at least 4 sons and 3 daughters. He lived in Sheridan District, Lincoln, West Virginia, United States in 1900. He died on 11 November 1919, in Henlawson, Logan, Virginia, United States, at the age of 73.
