George Washington Grimes was born on 4 July 1818, in Prince George's, Maryland, United States. He married Sarah "Sally" Grayson on 21 May 1846, in Nacogdoches, Province of Texas, Mexico. They were the parents of at least 4 sons and 7 daughters. He lived in Justice Precinct 4, Jack, Texas, United States in 1880 and Justice Precinct 4, Comanche, Texas, United States in 1900. He died on 28 December 1902, in Comanche, Texas, United States, at the age of 84, and was buried in Proctor, Comanche, Texas, United States.
