He married Dinah Coffin on 20 November 1690, in Nantucket, Nantucket, Massachusetts Bay Colony, British Colonial America. They were the parents of at least 3 sons and 8 daughters. He died on 29 January 1753, in his hometown, at the age of 84, and was buried in Founders Burial Ground, Nantucket, Nantucket, Massachusetts, United States.

History: The Starbucks chain of coffee houses is named after the first mate of the Pequod in Herman Melville's Moby Dick. Melville deliberately used a genuine whaling surname from Nantucket. It was taken to America by Edward Starbuck, a man from Derbyshire, in the 1630s.
