When Penelope Gibbs was born in 1788, in Madison, Virginia, United States, her father, Capt. Edward Churchill Gibbs, was 32 and her mother, Mary Judith Richardson, was 38. She married Richard Rixey on 2 November 1815. They were the parents of at least 3 sons and 7 daughters. She died in 1872, in Fauquier, Virginia, United States, at the age of 84.

    1788 · The First Presidential Election
