When Hans Diener was born in 1699, in Fischenthal, Zürich, Switzerland, his father, Jacob Diener, was 48 and his mother, Anna Liggenstorfer, was 23. He married Susanna Peter in 1719. They were the parents of at least 2 sons and 3 daughters. He died on 2 February 1772, in Zürich, Switzerland, at the age of 73.
