He married Lora Amelia Flint on 25 February 1808, in Hampton, Windham, Connecticut, United States. They were the parents of at least 6 sons and 1 daughter. He died on 13 September 1847, at the age of 60.

1788 · The First Presidential Election

The First Presidential election was held in the newly created United States of America. Under the Articles of Confederation, the executive branch of the country was not set up for an individual to help lead the nation. So, under the United States Constitution they position was put in. Because of his prominent roles during the Revolutionary War, George Washington was voted in unanimously as the First President of the United States.

1788 · Connecticut Becomes the 5th State

Connecticut became a state on January 9, 1788. In 1650, before it was a state, the boundary of Connecticut ran north from the westside of Greenwich Bay and the coast of the Pacific Ocean. During the 1600s, Westmoreland County was in Connecticut when the boundaries were changed Westmoreland County went to Pennsylvania.

English: habitational name from North and South Ormsby (Lincolnshire), or either of two places called Ormesby in Norfolk and the North Yorkshire. The placenames all derive from the Old Norse personal name Ormr + Old Norse ‘farmstead, village’.
