Brief Life History of Sarah

Sarah Vickery was born on 23 January 1800, in South Carolina, United States. She married William Doolen on 26 July 1814, in McCracken, Kentucky, United States. She lived in Fayette, Illinois, United States in 1830. She died on 12 September 1845, in Foster Township, Marion, Illinois, United States, at the age of 45, and was buried in Sandy Branch Cemetery, Kinmundy Township, Marion, Illinois, United States.

1803

France sells Louisiana territories to U.S.A.

1803 · The U.S doubles in size

The United States purchased all the Louisiana territory (828,000 sq. mi) from France, only paying 15 million dollars (A quarter trillion today) for the land. In the purchase, the US obtained the land that makes up 15 US states and 2 Canadian Provinces. The United States originally wanted to purchase of New Orleans and the lands located on the coast around it, but quickly accepted the bargain that Napoleon Bonaparte offered.

With the Aftermath of the Napoleonic Wars the global market for trade was down. During this time, America had its first financial crisis and it lasted for only two years.
