When Sigridur Thoroddsdottir was born on 4 June 1767, in Barðastrandarsýsla, Westfjords, Iceland, her father, Thoroddur Thoroddsson, was 25 and her mother, Bergliot Einarsdottir, was 24. She married Jón Thorberg about 1788, in Iceland. They were the parents of at least 7 sons and 5 daughters. She died on 5 May 1834, at the age of 66.
