When Jon Olofsson was born on 23 May 1776, in Kråksmåla, Kalmar, Sweden, his father, Olof Larsson, was 32 and his mother, Magda Andersdotter, was 24. He married Maria Jonsdotter on 26 December 1800, in Branthult, Kalmar, Sweden. They were the parents of at least 2 sons and 1 daughter. He died on 9 June 1833, in Älghult, Kronoberg, Sweden, at the age of 57, and was buried in Älghult, Kronoberg, Sweden.
