When Cordelia Martha Fitzpatrick was born in May 1877, in Illinois, United States, her father, Samuel Fitzpatrick Jr, was 39 and her mother, Nancy E. McMorris, was 39. She married Joseph Ellsworth Parson on 20 August 1894, in Coles, Illinois, United States. They were the parents of at least 3 sons and 3 daughters. She lived in Terre Haute, Sullivan, Indiana, United States for about 20 years. She died on 7 November 1968, at the age of 91, and was buried in Highland Lawn Cemetery, Terre Haute, Vigo, Indiana, United States.

1881 · The Assassination of James Garfield
Garfield was shot twice by Charles J. Guitea at Railroad Station in Washington, D.C. on July 2, 1881. After eleven weeks of intensive and other care Garfield died in Elberon, New Jersey, the second of four presidents to be assassinated, following Abraham Lincoln.
1885 · The First Skyscraper
The Home Insurance Building is considered to be the first skyscraper in the world. It was supported both inside and outside by steel and metal that were deemed fireproof and also it was reinforced with concrete. It originally had ten stories but in 1891 two more were added.
1901 · Assassination of Mckinley
President William McKinley was shot at the Temple of Music, in the Pan-American Exposition, while shaking hands with the public. Leon Czolgosz shot him twice in the abdomen because he thought it was his duty to do so. McKinley died after eight days of watch and care. He was the third American president to be assassinated. After his death, Congress passed legislation to officially make the Secret Service and gave them responsibility for protecting the President at all times.
