When William Wade was born in 1816, in Adair, Kentucky, United States, his father, Joseph Wade, was 31 and his mother, Henrietta Nelson Callicut, was 30. He married Mary Elizabeth Hipes on 3 August 1837, in Montgomery, Indiana, United States. They were the parents of at least 4 sons and 4 daughters. He lived in Scott Township, Montgomery, Indiana, United States in 1840. He died in 1860, in Greenup, Cumberland, Illinois, United States, at the age of 44.
