He married Florence Mabel Southgate on 27 July 1904, in New Zealand. They were the parents of at least 2 sons. He died on 27 September 1960, in New Zealand, at the age of 79, and was buried in Clareville Cemetery, Clareville, Wellington, New Zealand.
