He married Lucy Howard on 27 December 1829, in Geauga, Ohio, United States. They were the parents of at least 2 sons and 3 daughters. He lived in Mentor Township, Lake, Ohio, United States in 1850. He died on 17 January 1870, at the age of 76, and was buried in Mentor Township, Lake, Ohio, United States.
