Charles August Cramer was born on 21 April 1816, in Lübeck, Germany as the son of Leopold Cramer and Johanna Luise Cramer. He married Mrs. Mary Cramer about 1845, in Lübeck, Germany. They were the parents of at least 2 sons and 1 daughter. He lived in Winnebago Township, Winnebago, Illinois, United States in 1870 and Guilford Township, Jo Daviess, Illinois, United States in 1880. He died on 5 January 1893, in Ogden, Weber, Utah, United States, at the age of 76, and was buried in Utah, United States.
