He married Anna Maria Catharine Keenor on 20 August 1773. They were the parents of at least 2 sons and 8 daughters. He died on 9 March 1807, in Staunton, Virginia, United States, at the age of 52, and was buried in Manchester Cemetery, Manchester, Carroll, Maryland, United States.
