When Anna Maria Lore was born on 7 August 1796, in Somerset, Pennsylvania, United States, her father, Henry Lore, was 26 and her mother, Rosanna Glessner, was 20. She married Henry Shellhorn in 1816, in Maryland, United States. They were the parents of at least 6 sons and 6 daughters. She lived in Union Township, Knox, Ohio, United States in 1850. She died on 1 February 1865, in Pawnee, Nebraska, United States, at the age of 68, and was buried in Du Bois, Pawnee, Nebraska, United States.

1800 · Movement to Washington D.C.

While the growth of the new nation was exponential, the United States didn’t have permanent location to house the Government. The First capital was temporary in New York City but by the second term of George Washington the Capital moved to Philadelphia for the following 10 years. Ultimately during the Presidency of John Adams, the Capital found a permanent home in the District of Columbia.
