When Maren Sorensdatter Munk was born in 1490, in Havbro, Års, Ålborg, Denmark, her father, Søren Pedersen Munk, was 40 and her mother, Gjertrud Jensdatter Rotfeld, was 22. She married Svend Madsen Orning in 1518, in Elling, Åstrup, Denmark. They were the parents of at least 7 sons. She died in 1537, in Denmark, at the age of 47.
