When Hans Conrad Spengler was born on 4 December 1774, in Schönenbaumgarten, Thurgau, Switzerland, his father, Hans Jacob Spengler, was 30 and his mother, Susan Klaarer, was 26. He married Anna Barbara Mast on 14 July 1803, in Protestant Church of Altnau, Altnau, Thurgau, Switzerland. They were the parents of at least 6 sons and 4 daughters. He died on 23 November 1859, in his hometown, at the age of 84, and was buried in Switzerland.
