When David Sawdey was born on 14 February 1783, in Tiverton, Newport, Rhode Island, United States, his father, Samuel Sawdey, was 29 and his mother, Elizabeth Springer, was 30. He married Zerviah H Smith on 9 April 1808, in New Bedford, Bristol, Massachusetts, United States. They were the parents of at least 1 son. He died on 6 December 1857, in Lexington, Conneaut Township, Erie, Pennsylvania, United States, at the age of 74, and was buried in East Springfield, Springfield Township, Erie, Pennsylvania, United States.

1786 · Shays' Rebellion

Caused by war veteran Daniel Shays, Shays' Rebellion was to protest economic and civil rights injustices that he and other farmers were seeing after the Revolutionary War. Because of the Rebellion it opened the eyes of the governing officials that the Articles of Confederation needed a reform. The Rebellion served as a guardrail when helping reform the United States Constitution.
