They were the parents of at least 2 sons. He lived in Tiverton, Newport, Rhode Island, United States for about 5 years and Trenton, Mercer, New Jersey, United States for about 10 years. He died on 4 February 1979, at the age of 84.

1895 · College Hall Catches on Fire
On January 27, 1895, College Hall catches on fire and is fully consumed within one hour. During the fire, many students and faculty work together to save many of the items in the building. Some of these are library books. They save the books by piling them onto the rugs and dragging them out of the burning building. College Hall is then later rebuilt and renamed Davis Hall after Governor John W. Davis.
1903
The Public Service Corporation (PSC) was formed on May 6, 1903. The company began as a merger of a power company with four different trolley companies. PSC would ultimately combine with over 400 other companies.

U.S. intervenes in World War I, rejects membership of League of Nations.
