Alexander Henderson was born in 1805, in Berks, Pennsylvania, United States as the son of Samuel Henderson and Sarah. He married Mary Denham on 8 March 1825, in Harrison, West Virginia, United States. They were the parents of at least 4 sons and 4 daughters. He lived in Taylor, Virginia, United States in 1850 and Barbour, Virginia, United States in 1860. He died in 1880, in Taylor, West Virginia, United States, at the age of 75.
