When Christen Hirschi was christened on 20 March 1751, in Trub, Bern, Switzerland, his father, Hans Jean Hirschi, was 45 and his mother, Anne Marie Liechti, was 39. He married Margaretha Moser in December 1780, in Trub, Bern, Switzerland. They were the parents of at least 7 sons and 3 daughters. He died in 1828, at the age of 77.
