When Hannah Girton was born about 1800, in Pennsylvania, United States, her father, Esau Girton, was 35 and her mother, Sarah Elizabeth Heller, was 24. She married Henry Everett from 1818 to 1854. They were the parents of at least 3 daughters. She lived in Montour, Pennsylvania, United States in 1850 and Madison Township, Columbia, Pennsylvania, United States in 1870. She died after 1870.

about 1800 · Movement to Washington D.C.

While the growth of the new nation was exponential, the United States didn’t have permanent location to house the Government. The First capital was temporary in New York City but by the second term of George Washington the Capital moved to Philadelphia for the following 10 years. Ultimately during the Presidency of John Adams, the Capital found a permanent home in the District of Columbia.

English: habitational name from any of various places called Girton or Gretton. Gretton in Northamptonshire, as well as Girton in Nottinghamshire and Cambridgeshire, are named from Old English grēot ‘gravel’ + tūn ‘enclosure, settlement’. Gretton in Shropshire is named from Old English grēoten ‘gravelly’ + tūn, while Gretton, Gloucestershire, is ‘farmstead (tūn) near Greet (Old English grēote ‘gravelly place’)’.
