When Ephraim Koyl was born on 9 November 1781, in Schaghticoke, Rensselaer, New York, United States, his father, Ephraim Kyle, was 28 and his mother, Abigail Redding, was 28. He married Elizabeth Lillie about 12 July 1805, in Elizabethtown-Kitley Township, Leeds and Grenville, Ontario, Canada. They were the parents of at least 6 sons and 6 daughters. He lived in Lansdowne, Leeds and the Thousand Islands, Leeds and Grenville, Ontario, Canada in 1851. He died on 25 October 1864, in Toledo, Elizabethtown-Kitley, Leeds and Grenville, Canada West, British North America, at the age of 82, and was buried in Toledo, Elizabethtown-Kitley, Leeds and Grenville, Ontario, Canada.
