He married Elizabeth Huffman in 1790, in St. Mark's Parish, Culpeper, Virginia, United States. They were the parents of at least 4 sons and 6 daughters. He died on 28 March 1808, in Rocky Hill, Barren, Kentucky, United States, at the age of 38, and was buried in Buster - Settle Cemetery, Rocky Hill, Barren, Kentucky, United States.
