When John Berry Adcock was born on 13 November 1870, in Alabama, United States, his father, Dr Jeremiah Burson Adcock, was 22 and his mother, Lurena Frances Abbett, was 17. He married Loretta Jane Gray on 1 December 1896, in Timpson, Shelby, Texas, United States. They were the parents of at least 4 sons and 4 daughters. He lived in Police Jury Ward 4, Catahoula, Louisiana, United States in 1910 and Bernice, Union, Louisiana, United States for about 10 years. He died on 7 September 1937, in El Dorado, Union, Arkansas, United States, at the age of 66, and was buried in Spearsville, Union, Louisiana, United States.
