When Thomas Zwicker was born on 13 July 1788, in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, Canada, his father, George Melchior Zwicker, was 44 and his mother, Anna Gertrude Ernst, was 30. He married Anna Margaret Strum on 14 November 1811. They were the parents of at least 4 sons and 3 daughters. He died in October 1866, in his hometown, at the age of 78.
