When Ann Judith Gertrude Zwicker was born on 9 September 1794, in Mahone Bay, Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, Canada, her father, George Melchior Zwicker, was 50 and her mother, Anna Gertrude Ernst, was 36. She married John Peter Strum on 16 May 1811. They were the parents of at least 7 sons and 5 daughters. She died on 16 April 1878, in her hometown, at the age of 83, and was buried in Bay View, Pictou, Nova Scotia, Canada.
