He married Ruth Rich on 9 December 1790, in Middletown, Middlesex, Connecticut, United States. They were the parents of at least 4 sons and 6 daughters. He died on 11 December 1847, in Whitley, Indiana, United States, at the age of 78, and was buried in Lakeview Cemetery, Larwill, Richland Township, Whitley, Indiana, United States.
