He married Sophia Miller on 11 December 1817, in Westminster, Windham, Vermont, United States. They were the parents of at least 5 sons and 4 daughters. He died on 26 February 1853, at the age of 65, and was buried in Malone, Malone, Franklin, New York, United States.
